Squash Ontario Benefits and Services
for Member
Facilities
As a member of Squash Ontario, you may access all of the programmes
and services which we deliver. Most of these are available to members
as part of their membership fees.
- Rules Clinics
Cost to Members: $0.00
Cost to Non-Members: $140.00
Rules clinics are informal introductions to the rules of squash
and are designed to provide the average club player with a basic
understanding of the rules of the game and of the duties of the
marker. They are held in a classroom setting and last approximately
three hours.
- Squash Life Magazine
Cost to Members: $0.00
Cost to Non-Members: $20.00 subscription
Squash Life magazine is the only magazine in Canada devoted solely
to squash. Its content is geared to both high performance and
recreational players and includes interesting and beneficial articles
on the rules, coaching, universities, junior grass roots programmes,
nutrition, sports
injuries and major events. Complimentary copies of the magazine
are delivered directly to member clubs 4 times a year.
- Rules Books
Cost to Members: $0.00
Cost to Non-Members: $5.00 each
Quantities of the official rules of squash are made available
to member clubs upon request. Many clubs include a copy of the
rule book as part of their own "new member" package.
- Score Pads
Cost to Members: $0.00
Cost to Non-Members: $5.00 each
Quantities of score pads, utilized for in-house or other tournaments,
are made available to member cubs upon request.
Draw Sheets
Cost to Members: $0.00
Cost to Non-Members: $5.00 each
Quantities of draw sheets, utilized for in-house or other tournaments,
are made available to member clubs upon request.
- Eyeguard Stickers
Cost to Members: $0.00
Cost to Non-Members: $4.00 each
Eyeguard stickers, made specifically for court doors, are available
to member clubs upon request. There are three different stickers
available: Mandatory, Mandatory for Juniors, Strongly Recommended
- Monthly Mailings
Cost to Members: $0.00
Cost to Non-Members: Not available
Each month, Squash Ontario mails flyers promoting all of the sanctioned
events being held in Ontario. These are of particular importance
to many of the competitive players in the clubs.
- Sanctioning of Events
Cost to Members: $60.00
Cost to Non-Members: Not available
The sanction fee includes 5 key components:
* insurance coverage
* one dozen official balls
* design, printing and mailing costs for club's promotional flyer
* protection of club's tournament date from other tournaments
* inclusion in the Annual Handbook and on the current fixtures
list
- Website Listing

Cost to Non-Members: Not available
As more and more people use the internet to source information,
your club listing and and link to your website (if applicable)
can be an extremely valuable service.
- Equipment Loaner:
Cost to Members: $ 0.00
Programme Cost to Non-Members: $50.00/week
Many clubs are filling their court down time by encouraging school
participation. Squash Ontario will provide racquets, balls and
eyeguards to member clubs upon request. A deposit is required
but is refundable upon return of all equipment.
- Courting Schools
Cost to Members: $ 0.00
Programme Cost to Non-Members: $150.00
This programme provides a complete package for the club to market
its courts during their down time to neighbouring schools. Package
includes sample introductory letter and brochure, disk with all
local schools listed along with contact names, addresses, etc.,
and a financial statement to show a club how implementing the
"courting schools" programme can generate significant
new revenues.

The Squash Ontario office receives many, many calls from people
looking for a squash club to join. In every case, we refer them
only to member clubs.
- Inter-Regional

Leagues: Cost to Non-Members: Not eligible
League participation is an excellent way in which a club can showcase
not only its players but its facility. Very often, league players
in a club are the catalyst for successful programming. Club are
encouraged to enter both men's and women's teams in leagues which
offer competitive levels from A to E to, in some regions, veterans
and masters.
- Insurance
All sanctioned events and activities are covered by Squash Ontario's
$5,000,000 insurance policy which includes bodily injury on court.
This
coverage is very expensive and often prohibitive for smaller clubs
to access.
Junior
Club Manual
An exceptional and comprehensive resource on how to design your
junior program. It includes commonly asked questions, eight lesson
plans, drills and games. In addition there are helpful suggestions
on how to build your program by accessing neighbouring schools
and how to integrate Squash Ontario's bronze, silver, gold, provincial
and games events into your junior program. This Guide has been
produced as part of Squash Ontario's partnership with the Ontario
