Lee Hanebury Fund

Sometimes, when one donates to a charitable organization, they wonder if the money is really going to the people who need it most.  Following is an excerpt from a letter Squash Ontario received:

"My daughter has participated in many of your tournaments, particularly at White Oaks and Fabulous Fitness.  These experiences have not only improved her squash but they have also helped her mature as a young woman.

We would like to show our thanks for all the kindess we have received from the Squash Ontario family by making a small contribution to the Lee Hanebury Fund.  We understand that Lee was an extraordinary woman and that the fund is entirely for the benefit of junior squash in Ontario".

HELP US RAISE FUNDS FOR JUNIOR SQUASH IN ONTARIO
Through the Lee Hanebury Junior Squash Fund

Squash Ontario has BIG plans for junior development in Ontario over the next 5 years but we need your help.

In 2003, we introduced Team Ontario, a team of 6 boys and 6 girls all of whom have the potential to represent Ontario at the 2007 Canada Games and to go on and represent Canada internationally. Funding is provided to these young people to help them cover travel costs to major tournaments, coaching and entry fees.

In 2004, we expanded the Team Ontario concept to now include a Junior Developmental Squad of 12 – again 6 boys and 6 girls. These athletes are younger than those on Team Ontario and, with more high performance coaching, will be their successors. The Developmental Squad will also receive funding assistance.

Your donation will also help us to increase the exposure of squash to schools across the province through our “courting schools” programme and equipment loaner programme. This also includes the Jim Mason High School Championships which are held every May.

Donations are used only and specifically for junior squash players in Ontario – whether they are just taking up a racquet or on their way to international status.
