Rules Clinics - Singles or Doubles
Rules Clinics are an informal introduction to the rules of squash that is designed to provide the average club player with a basic understanding of the rules of the game and of the duties of the marker. They are held in a classroom setting and last approximately three hours. On request, content can often be altered to reflect any needs or concerns that may be specific to your facility.
Rules Clinics are provided free to participants for either Singles or Doubles and are not for the exclusive benefit of the hosting club's members but are open to anyone who is a member of a Squash Ontario member club. The number of people attending a clinic is limited only by the size of the classroom but they will not be held for less than 12. Please note that a deposit of $100.00 is required prior to the clinic and will be returned, provided minimum attendance conditions have been met (12 people). The actual cost of a rules clinic is $140.00 which includes instructor honorarium, travel and administrative costs.
These clinics are free to Squash Ontario member clubs. Non-member clubs may request a clinic provided a payment of $140.00 is received by Squash Ontario at least three weeks prior to clinic. If you would like to host a Rules Clinic, please complete the Rules Clinic Application Form and forward to Squash Ontario.
Rules Clinics - Junior
Squash Ontario’s exciting Junior Rules Clinic is designed to introduce Juniors and their parents to the basic rules of squash. The Junior Rules Clinic is based on Squash Australia’s very successful Rules Accredited Player (RAP) Courses. Squash Ontario has purchased the Junior RAP and has adapted it for use in Ontario.
The clinic consists of a fun and informative illustrated presentation of approximately 45 minutes followed by an interactive demonstration and practice session designed to test out students new knowledge of the rules by refereeing some practice games. When the clinic is completed, Juniors will receive a certificate and their own copy of the rules of squash. The clinic can be taught by one of Squash Ontario’s Certified Instructors or by the Club Pro/Programmer with the appropriate materials provided (Presenter’s Kit, Rule Books, Certificates, etc.). Use of the Junior Rules Clinic is completely free to all member clubs as a benefit of membership.
The only thing we ask in return is that you return all materials and provide us with the required information. If you would like to host a Junior Rules Clinic, please complete the Junior Rules Clinic Application Form and forward to Squash Ontario.
