Squash Ontario Club and League representatives are invited to join Squash Ontario’s Board and staff for the 2019 Annual General Meeting. The AGM will be taking place in the morning of June 14th, 2019, at the Richmond Hill Golf Club. Remote viewing will be available. 9:00 - 10:45 a.m.  Sport Organization Presentations

Gender Equity: A sport club’s next steps to promote gender equity practices. The Federal Budget 2018 announced a target to achieve gender equity in sport at every level by 2035 and proposed an initial $30 million over three years to support data and research and innovative practices to promote women and girls’ participation in sport. A representative from the Canadian Association for the Advancement of Women in Sport will present on current projects and best practices for achieving gender equity in all areas of operation in sport.

Putting an End to Abuse in Sport: a National Code of Conduct and Club Best Practices. Minister of Science and Sport Kirsty Duncan and the Coaching Association of Canada announced on February 21 in Ottawa an initiative to address abuse and harassment in sport. She announced: $209,000 will be allocated for a Safe Sport Summit Series aimed at helping develop a national code of conduct. Coaching Association of Canada to host summit and develop the code. Since 2015, the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) and the National Sport Organization (NSO) Safe Sport Task Force has been working to support the sport system with the implementation of a universal code of conduct to reduce all forms of abuse in sport. In collaboration with its partners, including provincial/territorial coaching representatives and national sport organizations, the CAC is making every effort to ensure that sport takes place in a safe environment.

Club Locker: Squash Ontario’s new member database and tournament software training. Jamie Nicholls, Squash Ontario Executive Director, will present Club Locker software for club database, court booking, leagues, ladders, rankings, tournaments, and much more. This software created by US Squash is available to Squash Ontario member organizations participating in the new “project 10k” membership model.
