Closing the Gap: Female Squash Ontario Members - Pre Season Survey

At Squash Ontario, we are dedicated to making our sport more inclusive and accessible to everyone. Over the years, we’ve seen a growing gap in female participation, which is something we’re eager to address. To tackle this challenge, we’re launching the Female Squash Ontario Members - Pre Season Survey and are calling on all female members to share their thoughts and experiences.

Why Is This Survey Important?

In recent seasons, the gender gap in squash has widened significantly. Before the pandemic, squash outperformed many other sports with a gender ratio of 1.9 males to every 1 female. Unfortunately, this ratio has increased to 2.50 males to 1 female this season. Your feedback will help us understand why this change has occurred and, most importantly, how we can create more opportunities for women and girls to participate in the sport.

Additionally, as part of our commitment to growing squash and ensuring its sustainability, we need to provide accurate data on gender participation to government bodies. By addressing the gender imbalance, we not only meet reporting requirements but also strengthen the foundation of squash in Ontario.

Who Should Take the Survey?

This survey is open to all female Squash Ontario members, regardless of skill level or how often you’ve participated in tournaments. Whether you're a competitive player or someone who plays recreationally, your voice matters!

How Can You Help?

By taking just a few minutes to complete this survey, you’ll be helping us identify gaps and challenges that female players face when it comes to tournaments and events. The information we gather will directly inform how we shape future events, making them more welcoming and accessible to female participants. We want to hear about your experiences, preferences, and suggestions so that we can build a better, more inclusive squash community for everyone.
