Squash Ontario Junior Tournament Pathway

Squash Ontario recommends an athlete play 50 competitive matches and 12 tournaments per year in order to progress throughout the stages. 

LOCAL JUNIOR PROGRAM

  • Available to all ages and levels

  • Learn the fundamentals of the game
    and learn to train properly

bronze events

  • Fun, half day event with modified rules for novice players aged 6-16
  • No effect on rankings.

Grand prix events

  • 1 day event for players with basic fundamentals
  • Best 2 out of 3 matches
  • 1 star ranking points
  • Boys and Girls U9, U11, U13, U15
 

SILVER EVENTS

  • 2 day tournament with best 3 out of 5 matches
  • 2 star ranking points
  • Boys & girls U11, U13, U15, U17

gold EVENTS

  • 2.5 day tournament for competitive players
  • 3 star ranking points
  • Boys and girls U11, U13, U15, U17, U19

PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

  • 2.5 day tournament for competitive players
  • 2 star ranking points
  • Boys & girls U11, U13, U15, U17, U19
  • Compete in National Championships

  • Top ranked players compete in Ontario and Canada Winter Games as a team and individually

national team

  • Compete at World Junior Championships
  • High Performance Training Camps

beyond junior squash

  • Join University team to compete in our OUA events
  • Continue to play in sanctioned and masters events
  • Join league at local club
  • Compete professionally with the Professional Squash Association
