Squash Ontario is a not for profit amateur sport organization responsible for squash within the province of Ontario. It was formed in 1976, and is recognized by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport as the Provincial Sport Organization (PSO) for squash in Ontario. We are responsible for delivering programming province-wide to influence the development of players, coaches, officials, and volunteers. Membership with Squash Ontario contributes to the growth and success of the sport, helping us obtain our vision that squash be a leading lifelong recreational and competitive sport in Ontario.

Squash Ontario has two options for Club Membership:

  2. Traditional Club Membership

project 10k club Membership

“Project 10K” refers to our goal to have 10,000 registered squash players in Ontario. The below member benefits apply in addition to all of the Traditional Member Benefits listed below.

CHARITABLE STATUS WITH TAX RECEIPTs FOR FUNDRAISING PROJECTS

The voting members of the Corporation are Full Club Members, Associate Club Members and Associate Community Members, who shall have one vote per paid-up court at meetings of members.

Member clubs may apply to the National Sport Trust Fund to gain charitable status for their fundraising initiatives. Not available for non-member clubs.

Rules Clinic

Rules clinics are informal introductions to the rules of squash and are designed to provide the average club player with a basic understanding of the rules and of the duties of the marker. They are held in a classroom setting and last approximately 3 hours.  The risk of accident is significantly reduced if your members know the rules. Squash Ontario will cover the cost of the instructor's honorarium and travel. $140.00 charge for non member facility.

Eyeguard Stickers

These are court door stickers.  They are available in the following formats:

1.  Mandatory
2.  Mandatory for Juniors
3.  Strongly recommended

To non member facility:  $10.00 each sticker

Defibrillators

Squash Ontario has negotiated a partnership with The Mikey Network to offer members clubs a significant discount on the purchase of a defibrillator for their facility. Significant discount as a benefit of membership.

Squash Equipment Loaner Program

It’s easier than ever to start up a junior program.  Squash Ontario will provide racquets, balls and eyeguards for 2 – 4 week periods.

To non member facility:  $100.00 per week rental charge

Nearby Schools to Clubs Program

The “Nearby Schools to Clubs” program will provide you with comprehensive information which will help you reach out to teachers, schools and school boards in your community.   The information is specific to your club and will save you and your squash professional or programmer hours of time researching and trying to find key school contacts.

To non-member facility:  $140.00

Courting Schools

This is a program specifically designed to help clubs generate revenues.  The program will show clubs how to effectively utilize down time; increase staff commissions through training and teaching; potentially generate new memberships; and increase community awareness of your facility.

Inter-Regional League

League play is one of the key programs clubs should consider offering their members.  By entering teams in inter-regional leagues, your club members become a key promotional tool for you – they travel to clubs within the city and in turn, other club teams travel to your club – this is an opportunity to showcase your club to potential new members. Registration fees apply.

Policy Use

Showcase your club with a tournament sanctioned through Squash Ontario. Two options are available - Marketing Only or Full Tournament Sanction. Member clubs have the opportunity to promote their events to the wider Squash Ontario audience through our website event listing and e-newsletters. Full Tournament Sanction would include all administrative details covered by Squash Ontario (registration, draws, scheduling, insurance, balls, etc.). Additional fees apply and only available to member clubs.

Squash Ontario’s core event schedule comprises of 50 events per year. All member clubs are invited to bid on Provincial Championships, Junior circuit tournaments, and other events each spring for the following September - May events.

  • generate revenue through entry fees/food & beverage sales, etc.

  • raise club profile to attract new members

  • provided added value to current members

Host a coaching clinic for your members and potential coaches! A minimum of 4 participants are required to run each course. Courses available are Community Coach Course, Coaching Foundations Course and Intermediate Coach Course. When hosting a course, the host club may send one participant to the clinic at no cost.

Post a job ad for any position in your club on our Careers web page and social media. Coaching positions are shared through e-newsletters semi-annually.
