2024 Assante Wealth Management Ontario Junior Open Championships

Out of province players must email tournaments@squashontario.com or call 647-360-0420 to be entered manually. Please do not purchase a Squash Ontario membership or register online.

The Gold and Provincial Championship events are the highest level of competition in Ontario with Girls and Boys U11, U13, U15, U17 & U19 draws.The highest ranked players to register prior to the deadline will secure a spot in the main draw. Any additional entries will be placed on a waitlist. Waitlisted players who don’t make it into the draw will receive a full refund.

Tournament: 2024 Ontario Junior Open Championships

Dates: 5-7 April, 2024 (play may start as early as 12pm on Friday and into the afternoon on Sunday. ​​​​​​​Please note that no time requests can be accomodated due to the nature of the event and players must be avaialble for the duration of the tournament)

Registration Deadline: March 27, 2024

Divisions: Boys and Girls U11, 13, 15, 17, 19

Top ranked entrants in each division to register by the deadline will secure their spot in the main draw. Any additional registrations outside the draw sizes will be added to a waitlist. This is NOT a first come, first serve registration process. 

As per Squash Canada NJC event guidelines:

  • Entries will be required to play in their age category based on their age group of the event. To compete in an older division in NJC tournaments players must be ranked:

    • The Top 8 NJC ranked players (as of entry deadline) in U17 are permitted to play U19.

    • The Top 4 NJC ranked players (as of entry deadline) in the U11, U13, and U15 categories are permitted to play in a higher age category.

    • Due to NJC points being awarded for this event, girls will be unable to play in the boys division.

Host Venue: The Club at White Oaks

Entry fee: $95 + HST

Start times will be published by end of day on the Wednesday and draws will be posted by end of day on the Thursday, the week of the tournament. Requests to change or specific start times cannot be accommodated due to the nature of the event.

EYEGUARDS

Eyeguards are required to be worn by ALL players at Ontario Championships. Please be prepared to wear these for all your matches. Officials will be monitoring the use of eyewear. 

OUT OF PROVINCE PLAYERS 

Please contact tournaments@squashontario.com to pay the entry fee and be added manually into the tournament. Please do not sign up through Club Locker as you do not need to purchase a Squash Ontario membership, this is for Ontario residents only.

REFUND POLICY

Any withdrawals before the entry deadline will receive a refund less a 15% admin fee. Any withdrawals after the entry deadline DO NOT receive a refund.

White Oaks Resort Discounted Rooms Available:

The group rate is no longer available to new reservations.  Reservations will be based on a first come first serve basis subject to general hotel availability. 

Our Check in Time is 4pm and Check out time is 11am.  Requests for early check-in and late check-out are based on request only and may be subject to a fee.

Draw Format: For divisions where a draw is required, the top 2 seeded players will be placed in the proper positions at the top and bottom of the draw. Positions for the 5-8 seeded players will be drawn at random, as well and the 3rd and 4th seeded players. For draws with more than 16 players, players seeded 9-12 will also be drawn, with remaining players placed at random. This process will be witnessed.

In the event of seeded players having ratings within .05 at the time of the deadline, Squash Ontario will use the NJC rankings as the decider. Squash Ontario reserves the right to move any same club match ups in the first round, without affecting the placed seeded players. The lower rated player will be switched with the next closest rated player from a different club to keep the integrity of the draw.
