A note from Squash Canada:

After four days of competition and over 745 high-intensity matches, the 2023 Canadian Junior Open presented by Forthlane Partners has come to a close. This prestigious event was once again hosted by The Club at White Oaks in Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON where over 350 athletes competed in boy and girls U11/U13/U15/U17/U19 categories as well as a NextGen PSA Satellite event, from December 9 to 12.

It was a very successful event for our Canadian players, with 40 athletes representing Canada finishing in the top five of their respective age categories. Canadians acquired a total of 22 medals and claimed six of the twelve possible Gold Medals. Congratulations to Wing Kai Gladys Ho (GU17), Rohan Paliwal (BU17), Javier Emilio Romo Lopez (BU19), and Iman Shaheen (GU19) for winning Gold. See below for the complete list of medalists.

In addition, Squash Canada hosted a NextGen PSA Satellite event. The event was well received by the athletes as a way for them to gain high performance competition experience and an opportunity to gain valuable points towards their PSA ranking. Congratulations to Juan Sebastian Salazar Gomez (MEX) and Nikole Todd (CAN) for capturing the NextGen titles.

Squash Canada would like to acknowledge the support of Forthlane Partners as presenting sponsor of the Canadian Junior Open, and sincerely thank the Government of Canada and Government of Ontario for their invaluable support towards this event.
