Squash Ontario's Plans to Increase Squash Outreach in 2024

We’re kicking off the new year full speed ahead with our new squash outreach plans! We’re pleased to share the exciting news that Tracy Gardner has joined the Squash Ontario team as our Community Engagement Coordinator with the main goal to grow squash and make long lasting impact for our sport.

Squash Ontario has ambitious goals in its 2023-2027 “Squash for All” strategic plan to introduce squash to more players than ever before, ensuring the sport’s continued growth. By 2027, we will have 30,000 people introduced to the sport through Learn to Play programs, mobile squash courts, Squash Canada’s glass court community events and open house events. We will have wheelchair squash programs up and running and equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives underway.

Here is a quick snapshot of our outreach plans for 2024 below:

  1. Portable Courts Rental:

Squash Ontario offers inflatable and mini courts (available February) for loan. The inflatable court inflates in under 2 minutes, providing instant visibility and excitement for squash. It's versatile, suitable for locations like parking lots, school yards, and shopping malls—all it needs is a flat surface and an electrical outlet! Perfect for promotional events, email tracy@squashontario.com to inquire about renting the inflatable or mini court.

2. Employee Wellness Initiative:

In our commitment to expanding the squash community, Squash Ontario is crafting a program that encourages and supports member clubs to open their doors to companies interested in incorporating squash into their employee wellness initiatives. This initiative not only introduces more individuals to squash but also fosters meaningful connections between the sport and the local community.

3. Open Houses & Special Events:

As we kick off the new year, we're planning open house events with member clubs. If you're planning or interested in hosting an open house, please email tracy@squashontario.com.

4. Equipment Loaner Program:

This program is designed to assist schools with introducing the sport of squash to students (Grades 3-12) in either a school gym setting or a squash club. There are still dates available to introduce squash to students, fill out the application form through this link if you are interested. https://www.squashontario.com/equipment-loaner-application
