140 players joined us for the largest provincial doubles championship event in recent history, thanks to the combined Mixed doubles and Men’s and Women’s doubles events. With 50 players competing in two divisions, we buckled up for an adventure of a weekend.

The squash world has something to celebrate! Diego Elias, the former World #1 and current World #3 squash player, has been nominated for 2024 Athlete of the Year! Diego, a protege of Canada’s squash legend Jonathan Power, is one of just 22 athletes nominated globally—and he’s the only squash player on the list! Even more incredible, he represents Pan America with pride.

On January 17th at 8:00 am EST, Squash Ontario will be facilitating a conversation between international families interested in an Ontario education and the four Canadian Independent School boarding schools that take part in the newly sanctioned CISAA boys squash league. These Ontario schools all boast beautiful newly renovated facilities and strong squash programs that we are excited to share with the world.

Squash Ontario is excited to kick 2025 off with a weekend full of doubles! For the first time ever, the annual Ontario Doubles Championships will take place alongside the Ontario Mixed Doubles Championships with the goal of creating one long-weekend full of doubles competition and comraderie.

As we close out another incredible year, Squash Ontario is thrilled to recognize and celebrate the achievements of our 2024 Provincial Champions! This past year was full of fierce competition, remarkable displays of skill, and inspiring sportsmanship. Our athletes gave it their all, and their hard work and dedication deserve to be celebrated.

Squash Ontario is a not-for-profit that relies on the support of donors to enable sport growth and athlete development programs that wouldn’t operate at all without it. All donations made to the Lee Hanebury Junior Squash Fund will receive a tax receipt.

The 2024 Canadian Junior Open, held this past weekend at The Club at White Oaks and secondary venue Ridley College, was an extraordinary gathering of talent, bringing together some of the best junior squash players from Canada and around the world.
