Squash Ontario Junior Development Pathway

Squash Ontario recommends an athlete play 50 competitive matches and 12 tournaments per year in order to progress throughout the stages. ‘

LOCAL JUNIOR PROGRAM

  • Find a local squash club and learn about their junior programs. Use our Club Finder

  • Learn the fundamentals skills and how to train properly

  • Available to all ages and levels

bronze events

  • Between 8-12 Bronze events each season

  • Fun, half day events with modified rules for novice players aged 6-16 with very limited tournament experience

  • No effect on rankings

Grand prix events

  • Multiple Grand Prix events each season

  • 1 day event for players with fundamental skills who are able to serve and rally

  • Best of 3 game matches

  • Boys and Girls U9, U11, U13, U15

 

SILVER EVENTS

  • Multiple Silver events each season

  • 2 day tournament for Competitive players

  • Best of 5 game matches

  • Boys and Girls U11, U13, U15, U17

gold EVENTS

  • 4 Gold events each season

  • 2.5 day tournament for High Performance players

  • Best of 5 game matches

  • Boys and Girls U11, U13, U15, U17, U19

PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

  • 3 Provincial Championship events each season

  • 2.5 day tournament for High Performance players

  • Boys and Girls U11, U13, U15, U17, U19

  • Compete in National Championships
