Hennessy & Hinchcliffe Ontario Women's Veterans Doubles Championships Presented by Slaight Music

Squash clubs around the Greater Toronto Area were taken over this weekend with the annual Men’s & Women’s Veterans Doubles Championships - Squash Ontario’s final provincial doubles championship of the year. The women who played in the Hennessy & Hinchcliffe Ontario Women's Veterans Doubles Championships Presented by Slaight Music were treated at the Toronto Cricket Club with a great venue and tournament experience with thanks to Tournament Chair Lolly Gillen and Tournament Referee Leslie Freeman.

Operation: OFSAA, 10 Week Countdown with Keira Rawlins and Holy Trinity School

This week we're boasting about Keira Rawlins who is sharing her squash skills and enthusiasm with nearly 2 dozen students at Holy Trinity School in Richmond Hill. Keira, a top GU17 Ontario player, is one of the young leaders awarded a $500 bursary from Squash Ontario this season to prepare and take a team to the OFSAA sanctioned Jim Mason Cup high schooI team tournament in April. She's stoked with their progress and excitement. They've been heading to the Richmond Hill squash club three times a week for practices.

Operation: OFSAA 11 Week Countdown to the Jim Mason Cup

Racquets up to Robert de la Riva who is drilling and demonstrating the ins and outs of squash to more than a dozen classmates at Sudbury's College-Notre Dame. Robert is one of 10 student leaders awarded a $500 bursary from Squash Ontario to prepare a one or more teams to compete in Jim Mason Cup high school team tournament this April in Toronto.  The tournament is an OFSAA event for the first time this year.

Can you feel it? There’s a squash revolution happening in Ontario high schools and young leaders like Ottawa’s Max Shewchenko are leading the charge. Max is one of 10 recipients of the Squash Ontario Student Leadership Bursary to help introduce the sport to students in his high school.  Their mission is to each bring a team to the Jim Mason Cup High School Team Tournament, April 17-18 in Toronto. Adopt a School to Support Operation OFSAA

Squash Ontario has launched Operation OFSAA (Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations) with the goal of having squash achieve full OFSAA status by 2022. This initiative will be the catalyst for the greatest participation increase in Squash Ontario history and will be a critical springboard to feed our existing programs and member clubs. Operation OFSAA aims to provide every high school student in the province with access to the sport of squash -- through their schools -- 2022.
