Over 200 of Canada’s best junior players battled it out this past weekend at the 2022 Canadian Junior Closed Squash Championships in Victoria, British Columbia. Being the final event of the season for most of our athletes, it is a time to see if the countless hours of training and tournament play will result in a national title!

Leslie Freeman, Class of 2022, Passes
Less than a week after being inducted into the Ontario Squash Hall of Fame's Class of 2022, Leslie Freeman has sadly passed after battling with cancer for 5.5 years. On April 28th, Leslie was represented by partner Tim Mallory at the induction ceremony and Leslie supporters were graced with a video interview previously filmed by longtime squash partner and friend Jim Paton.

A Celebration to Remember - The 2022 Ontario Squash Hall of Fame Induction
On April 28th the Granite Club in Toronto hosted the Ontario Squash Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony for the Class of 2022 inductees - Murray Christison, Leslie Freeman, Penny Glover and Pat Richardson. Squash friends and families came from many parts of the province to celebrate this special event so happy to be able to attend a function after the last two years of the pandemic which has affected us all in so many ways.
The Harrow Junior Silver Circuit Comes To An End For The 2021-2022 Season
It was all smiles at the Harrow Junior Silver Championships by Mortgage Company of Canada that took place at Squashabout (Dunfield) this past weekend. Firstly, thank you to our sponsors Harrow and Mortgage Company of Canada for making this event possible. A lot of credit goes to Bryan Chin, our tournament chair, for running the tournament efficiently. Lastly, a big shout out to all the juniors who took part in the event and made this one very special. Hewitt's Take Home The Hennessy & Hinchcliffe 2022 Mixed Open Doubles Championship
his past weekend was dedicated to the final senior doubles event of the season - the 2022 Hennessy and Hinchcliffe Ontario Mixed Doubles Championships. Kudos to all the teams for taking part and making this event a huge success. We witnessed the men and women come together and enjoy themselves, while playing some competitive squash.

A very exciting evening is ahead of us as four special contributors to the Ontario squash community will be inducted into the Ontario Squash Hall of Fame as the Class of 2022: Murray Christison, Leslie Freeman, Penny Glover and Patrick Richardson. The induction ceremony will take place at the Granite Club in Toronto on the evening Thursday, April 28th, with a sold out crowd.
The Ontario Squash Hall of Fame Board of Governors have put together a beautiful evening of events and speeches beginning around 7:15 p.m. Anyone wishing to follow along and support the four inductees are welcome to watch the live stream of the event curtesy of Josh Ginou at the button below.

Northern Secondary School Grabs Gold at The 2022 Jim Mason High School Championship
75 athletes, 12 coaches, 10 courts, 180 matches - PLUS - countless smiles, victory salutes, cheers and supporters. The numbers don’t lie. High School squash IS BACK! After two years in limbo, 14 teams from schools around the province brought their electric energy to the courts at Toronto’s Mayfair Lakeshore last Friday to battle it out for the coveted Jim Mason Cup High School Team title.
