Nicole Pirko, Terry Bruce and the Pickering team welcomed the mixed doubles community with open arms October 21st - 23rd and provided a warm and friendly environment and outstanding hospitality. The Pickering Recreation Centre's two courts side by side were humming all weekend with the laughs and smiles unique only to mixed doubles competition. In addition, some outstanding competition in the Harvest Hit men's B and C draws kept the action in high gear throughout. A star studded open final capped off the event with world champion Stephanie Hewitt and her 3-time Canadian champion partner Robin Clarke defeating fellow world champ Seanna Keating and the always entertaining Eric Baldwin 3-1 in front of a packed house. A big thanks to tournament sponsors Black Knight, and tournament referee extraordinaire Tony Swift for contributing their part. Congratulations to all of our champions and medalists on a job well done.
