2019 INDUCTEES TO ONTARIO SQUASH HALL OF FAME ANNOUNCED 

The Ontario Squash Hall of Fame Board of Governors, Anne Smith (chair), Robert Brooks, Sherry Funston, Penny Glover, Peter Hall and Tony Swift, is pleased to announce the newest members of the Ontario Squash Hall of Fame.

Clive Caldwell will be inducted as a Player/Builder. Clive captured over 35 professional singles and doubles events over a 20 year career on the World Professional Squash Association (WPSA) Tour including winning the 1980 and 1982 World Professional Singles Hardball Championships.  Clive Caldwell is one of the most respected individuals in the Canadian Health Club Industry. As President and CEO of the Cambridge Group of Clubs, he has been singularly responsible for growing the game both inside and outside Ontario. His most recent contribution is as founder and chairman of Urban Squash Toronto, the very successful education and squash program that impacts over a hundred youth from the Jane and Finch corridor of Toronto since 2010.

Peter Frost will be inducted as a Builder.  Peter's lifetime involvement in and commitment to the squash community spans contributions at the regional, provincial, national and international levels.  He has chaired numerous Canadian Championships including captaining Team Canada in the Lapham/Grant; he was president of both Squash Ontario and Squash Canada and he played a significant role over the past several decades in building the strong relationship between squash in Canada and squash in the United States.

Vincent Taylor, will be inducted as a Player/Builder.  9 Ontario Championships, 4 National Championships, 2 US titles, and 1 Scottish Masters title and many, many finalist results.  And when he wasn’t playing squash, he was helping develop and grow the game, serving on local Ottawa squash Committees, Ontario Competitions and Masters Committees and Squash Canada Masters Committees.   Many young athletes were recipients of Vinnie’s support.

INDUCTION CEREMONY

The induction ceremony will be held on Thursday, April 4th at the Granite Club, 2350 Bayview Avenue in Toronto beginning at 6:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception.
