Family day weekend saw three-person provincial teams from around the country travel to compete in the annual Men’s and Women’s Canadian Team Championships, in Winnipeg and Quebec, respectively. Winning their finals 2-1 each, the men’s team (seeded #2) of Mike McCue, Nick Sachvie, and Cam Seth, and the women’s team (seeded #1) of Molly Chadwick, Hollie Naughton, and Iman Shaheen brought home top Canadian team titles from the 2020 events.

In Winnipeg, Mike, Nick and Cam kicked off the event with a swift 3-0 win over Manitoba followed by closer matches with Alberta for a 2-1 win placing them in the finals (Mike retiring in the 2nd game, Nick beating Graeme Schnell in 5 games, and a 3-0 win for Cam). The team faced #1 seed Quebec to determine first place, with Mike and Cam adding 3-0 wins to the board completing the finals with a 2-1 win, and defending their 2019 gold title.

Hollie, Molly and Iman made their way to Quebec as the #1 seeded team and made their case with 4 consecutive 3-0 wins in pool play against Quebec, Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia, and Northwest Territories. In the finals, the girls met British Columbia (#3 seed) who dropped only one match in pool play. Hollie and Iman finished their matches 3-0 each, clinching the title 2-1 against BC.
