Provincial Coach Certification Support for Coaches Wishing to Enter Field of Play at National Events

Originally announced in late 2023, Squash Canada will be implementing mandatory Provincial Coach Certification requirement for coaches who wish to enter the Field of Play at national events. These certification requirements are scheduled to be enforced by January 2026. This policy does not currently apply to parents, guardians and/or siblings requested to provide advice and instruction to their own family member and/or other players during an event.

As we lead up to this deadline, there is one Provincial Coach Course scheduled for this summer:

Location: Toronto Cricket, Skating and Curling Club – Toronto, Ontario
Date: August 8–10, 2025

In addition, Squash Ontario will be hosting 4-5 of the additional National Coach Certification Program training requirements over the next six months at a very reasonable cost for coaches in order to support their training and certification progress.

The policy was introduced to promote a high standard of coaching through the NCCP and mandating expectations of squash coaches to be appropriately trained and certified to ensure quality instruction and coaching at all Squash Canada events and to ensure athletes are receiving the full benefit of their participation in squash.
