Squash Ontario is seeking a dynamic and well-connected leader to fill the new role of Fundraising Chair on our Board of Directors. This is a critical position for the future of our sport in Ontario.

Currently, we raise approximately $100,000 annually through sponsorships and individual donations. With government funding decreasing and operational costs rising, we need a passionate advocate who can significantly grow our fundraising capacity and ensure long-term sustainability for our programs, athletes, and events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead fundraising strategy in collaboration with the Executive Director, including developing targeted individual donor campaigns and major gift initiatives.

  • Cultivate corporate sponsorships by leveraging personal and professional networks to secure new partners and retain existing ones.

  • Chair signature fundraising events, including:

    • Charity Golf Classic (annual spring/summer fundraiser)

    • Craft 360 Brewery Partnership Event (annual summer event in Toronto launching 2026)

  • Inspire a fundraising culture within the Board and broader squash community by establishing a fundraising committee.

  • Act as an ambassador for Squash Ontario at events, meetings, and community engagements.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven track record in fundraising, sales, sponsorship, or business development.

  • Strong network within the corporate, philanthropic, or sports community.

  • Confident relationship-builder with excellent communication skills.

  • Strategic thinker who can translate big-picture vision into actionable fundraising plans.

Time Commitment:

  • Approximately 4–6 hours per month, plus attendance at Board meetings and fundraising events.

  • The Board meets once per quarter, plus annually for the AGM.

  • Term is two years, with the expectation of serving up to three consecutive terms.

If you are passionate about squash, skilled at generating revenue, and excited to make a tangible impact on the growth of squash in Ontario, we would love to hear from you.

The directors are elected by the members of Squash Ontario at the annual general meeting for a two-year term of which a maximum of three consecutive terms can be held. The president of the organization and vice president of finance are elected by the board themselves annually.
