Squash Pro Patrick Hartunian kicks off his move to Life Time Athletic Mississauga with the Life Time Challenger event. Congratulations to Aman Singh (Men's A/B Champion), Sean Oh (Men's A/B Finalist), Bruce Seo (Men's C/D Champion) and Sumit Taneja (Men's C/D Finalist).

The Jesters of Ontario continue to be a driving force for junior squash in our province and are pleased to launch a special bursary in 2017 geared towards the pursuit of excellence for Ontario junior athletes. The bursary is designed to reward juniors that have put in extra-ordinary effort in the first half of the 2016-17 season and provide them with additional resources in early 2017 to help them pursue excellence at the 2017 Canadian Junior Squash Championships in Vancouver, British Columbia.

With the dead of winter now upon us there is no better way to keep fit, have fun and beat the cold by getting together with friends and fellow competitors at some of the province's very best and long standing sanctioned events. During January and February, first class tournaments for all ages and levels will keep your body active, your game sharp and make you forget all about the winter blahs. 

Squash Ontario is pleased to announce a draft list of athletes and alternates who have been nominated for Ontario Cards under the 2016-2017 Quest for Gold - Ontario Athlete Assistance Program (OAAP). The athletes nominated were selected using the sport specific selection criteria developed by Squash Ontario, approved by its Board of Directors and applied by (the) Selection Committee.

McMaster University hosted the second and final western sectional tournament of the year, which will lead into the Jesters University League Final in February.  The men's teams consisted of Western, McMaster, Guelph, Waterloo, Laurier and Ryerson while the women's teams included McMaster, Waterloo, Western and the debuting teams of Laurier and Guelph! 

On the heels of the always successful Reggae Cup, tournament organizers Matt Easingwood and Cindy Sachvie hosted back to back tournaments with the return of the Jesters Harrow Grand Prix series. White Oaks played host to the Jesters Harrow Grand Prix #7 on Saturday, January 14th.

The brilliant sunrise in Edmonton last Sunday morning was a fitting backdrop to the golden performance from Ontario's masters team. The 7 member squad of 4 men and 3 women lived up to its number one seeding, roaring through the preliminary rounds of the Canadian Team Championships in convincing fashion before beating Alberta 4-3 in a thrilling gold medal finale.

Originally a Canadian event, the Ontario Junior Doubles Championships has changed over as a new provincial championship event in the hands of Jessica DiMauro at the Granite Club. This year the event took in 84 juniors, tying with the largest Canadian Junior Doubles event ever! Special thanks to the Ontario Doubles Squash League, Harrow, and the Cambridge Club for supporting the event and helping grow the doubles game!
