Ontario Athletes Set to Shine at 2025 World Junior Squash Championships

Canadian junior athletes are heading to Egypt for the 2025 World Squash Junior Championships, taking place from July 21 to August 1 in Cairo. The event will feature both junior men’s and women’s individual and team competitions. Canada is sending a strong and diverse team, blending experienced veterans with exciting new talent — including several standout athletes from Squash Ontario.

Ontario’s presence will be particularly strong in the individual events, with three athletes competing from July 21 to 26. Keira Hickox (ON) will represent Canada on the junior women’s side, while Arham Izhar (ON) and Luke Yang (ON) will compete in the junior men’s draw. All three Ontario athletes have been developing within the Squash Ontario high-performance system, and their selection highlights the province’s ongoing contributions to Canada’s national squash success.

Guiding the Canadian squad are Jonathan Hill, a seasoned coach with nine World Junior appearances, and Samantha Cornett, who has represented Canada nine times at the junior and senior world championships. They are supported by Team Manager Chris Truswell, who also serves as Squash Canada’s Event Director.

Join us in cheering on Ontario’s Keira Hickox, Arham Izhar, and Luke Yang, as well as the rest of Team Canada, as they compete on the world stage in Cairo. This marks a key step in their journey — and a perfect lead-in to the excitement of the 2026 World Junior Championships, which will be hosted at The Club at White Oaks (ON) next summer!
