The 2026 YouFirst Financial Charity Golf Classic returned to Woodington Lake Golf Club on Friday, September 11, bringing together the Ontario squash community for another incredible day of golf, fundraising, and celebrating the start of a new squash season.
Now in its 23rd year, this event continues a tradition that began in 2002 when Mark Sachvie and Lolly Gillen launched the tournament with one goal in mind: to raise funds that help grow junior squash across Ontario. More than two decades later, that mission is stronger than ever.
Thanks to the generosity of our golfers, sponsors, prize donors, online auction bidders, and volunteers, we raised $18,000 in support of Squash Ontario's sport development initiatives.
Every dollar raised through this event is invested back into squash in Ontario, helping us deliver programs that make the sport more accessible and create opportunities for players of all ages and abilities. Funds from this year's event will support initiatives including our Mini-Court Tour, school squash programming, women and girls programming, Mixed Abilities squash, junior development opportunities, and other outreach programs across the province. Events like the Charity Golf Classic play a vital role in ensuring we can continue supporting clubs, coaches, athletes, and communities throughout Ontario. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed to this year's success.
